The Main House

The dwellings at Yanaguana are constructed from local natural materials and designed and built with a lot of love.

The Main House is made of cob – a mixture of clay, sand and straw. A labor-intensive hand-sculpting method was used to construct high thermal mass two-foot thick adobe walls topped by clerestory windows to naturally cool and heat the house without a conventional HVAC system. An inspired architect/natural builder, Kindra Welch and her amazing husband, John Curry, baby girl (Kaylen) and baby boy (Liam) and crew built the main house.
